“Yes, and…”
The demand on a team in a competitive market is high. But speed and creativity are not mutually exclusive when we’re working together like a hive, ideating, iterating, and improvising. Innovative ideas bubble up like Spotted@Macy’s, a shopping inspiration banner series I proposed for generating revenue without adding expense and implemented with the help of the hive. The original sketches below were developed within a day, using products from the site.
Simple, flexible criteria were set up to guide interesting product curations for fashion trends, holidays and pop culture moments.

The impact
Designed to bypass lengthy planning cycles, a new banner concept could be live on the site in fewer than 48 hours. While “These bowls are super” didn’t make the cut (NFL trademark restrictions), the others were green-lit subject only to inventory availability. Best part? Incremental sales, margin, and fun.*
